The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 changed the way Health and Safety is managed in construction projects. A new role of principal designer was created and responsibilities changed, in particular client duties increased. 

Crux CDM can assist in providing a suitable CDM management solution to help ensure that all duties are fulfilled.

As principal designer we work closely with the design team to help eliminate or reduce health and safety risks on the project.  

On projects where a principal designer has been appointed and requires assistance in fulfilling duties under CDM 2015, Crux CDM can assist as an advisor to the principal designer.

This approach has worked successfully on a broad range of projects. Duties will be broadly the same as for the principal designer role, ensuring that we work closely with the appointed principal designer and wider design team.

Crux CDM can act as an independent CDM advisor on behalf of clients to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the requirements of CDM 2015.

There is significant responsibility on the client to ensure that a project is carried out in accordance with the regulations. 

At Crux CDM, we can provide advice and recommendations on a particular issue or throughout a project to assist the client and other duty holders achieve the required CDM compliance.

We can also provide advice to individual duty holders including designers, principal contractors and contractors.

Crux CDM can carry out a number of site based audits and inspections, these include;

• Reviews of a site to assist clients in ensuring that suitable H&S management and welfare arrangements are in place.

• A review of H&S systems to ensure that all necessary documentation is in place.

• H&S inspections on behalf of clients, principal contractors or contractors.
